Our Story

By Hand. From the Heart.

In today's fast-paced world of fashion, as machines churn out goods at an unprecedented pace and cost, the timeless artistry of skilled artisans faces the risk of fading into obscurity. At Project Good Source we aim to focus on ethically handmade, handwoven and hand-embroidered only in small ateliers. Our pieces are not seasonal, they are designed to remain in style and to be appreciated for the years to come. All our designs are made using mainly handwoven textiles and our clothes are also only produced in small batches. We constantly strive to achieve fair trade and ethical business practices and our team of workers do their best at every stage of production. Our collections embrace influences from diverse cultures and traditions around the world, reflecting our love for travel and exploration.

We celebrate the traditional craft sustaining the exquisite beauty it inherits through modern reinterpretation of heritage.

Our Team

Co-founded by entrepreneur duo Nida Arshad & Rania Fredj, Project Good Source is a brainchild of like-minded people. Nida obtained master's from London College of Fashion and has years of experience in marketing and fashion sourcing. Rania did her master's in Communication Arts from New York, has held positions at the United Nations for the substantial part of her career and worked globally for varied international projects.
The thread that weaves them together is the shared passion for handwoven textiles art and culture. Guided by their love for travel and human connection, the founders of Project Good Source have journeyed through South Asia, North Africa, South America, and the Middle East—regions rich in tradition and artistic heritage. Along the way, they’ve formed lasting relationships with local artisans, learning first-hand about centuries-old weaving techniques and cultural narratives woven into every thread. They aim to embrace influences from diverse cultures and traditions around the world through their collections, reflecting their love for travel and exploration.

“Our aim is to raise awareness of diverse crafts and textile processes, and creating a global community that appreciates and integrates the rich heritage and history of traditional textiles into everyday life through our products. To us, hands are the prized possession."

Our Values

The purpose of Project Good Source is to bring traditional craft to a large audience through textiles, clothing and lifestyle. The intrinsic circularity and connectedness to nature, community and culture that we discovered in these first collaborations would inspire a growing vision to platform and celebrate artisanal craft.

Our brand value incorporates ethical sourcing, handwoven luxury and culture of respect prioritising artisan empowerment. We embrace the beauty of the handwoven textiles through our collections and are on a mission to continue the unbroken lineage of handlooms and heritage by transforming it into meaningful luxury.

Artisans

Artisans, with their skilled hands and deep-rooted traditional knowledge, are the backbone of Project Good Source. They are the masters of traditional techniques and create one-of-a-kind pieces with top-notch quality, standing out from mass-produced fashion. These craftspeople have honed their skills over generations, weaving, dyeing, and printing fabrics in ways that tell stories of their culture, history, and environment. Our biggest passion is working with artisanal community globally to sustain traditional craft techniques and textiles. These crafts are a form of language that talk about their histories, regional cultures and identities.

“Hand weaving is a meditative practice, a journey of creation that fills me with joy and satisfaction. I find beauty in the imperfections and unique character that hand weaving brings to each piece".
